SciClyc.com is an online community that allows registered members to build custom profiles and research banks which can be linked together. SciClyc members can be biomedical researchers, clinicians, or industrial scientists. They can view each other's profiles and construct online research banks which are designed to manage the following information derived from human and animal biopsies: tissue culture, cell culture, blood/plasma, histology, genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, electron amicroscopy, lab protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality assurance (QA), and quality control (QC) documentation. Researchers are requested to display personal information to other members and visitors, which allows our users to identify each other and see research bank overviews. SciClyc banks can be either reserved for private access, or shared with other users through virtual collaborations. Virtual collaborations occur when any two users mutually agree to share parts (or all) of their research banks with each other. These relationships can be between any SciClyc user, whether they are researchers, clinicians, or working in industry. SciClyc.com collects user-submitted private information such as name, research institution, field of research, and email address to authenticate users. SciClyc.com also collects other optional data including but not limited to: tissue culture, cell culture, blood/plasma, histology, genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, electron microscopy, lab protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality assurance (QA), and quality control (QC) documentation. This information is secured in an online database, and is only shared through user-specified virtual collaborations, and not with outside sources. SciClyc.com also records IP addresses to monitor website security and track usage.
Email addresses are only used by the SciClyc.com to forward messages through the SciClyc administrator. Collaborators may communicate with each other through the SciClyc.com service, without disclosing their email addresses. To facilitate searching and finding potential collaborators on the service, users my search for other members using the members publishing name, email address, and research institutions. SciClyc.com members may also invite colleagues to the service by sending invitation emails via our automated invitation system.
SciClyc.com uses cookies to store session information to prevent its members from seeing the same advertisements repeatedly. We do not link the information we store in cookies to any personally identifiable information you submit while on our site. User's may except or reject all cookies on the personal browser setting. Advertisers' use of cookies is subject to their own privacy policies, and not that of SciClyc.com.
SciClyc.com contains links to sites. SciClyc.com is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites.
